A convict chain adorned with a pendant representing two moonstones set in the shape of a bee.

Napoleon Bonaparte chose the bee as the emblem of his reign, replacing the Bourbon fleur-de-lis. He was inspired by the golden bees found in the tomb of Childeric I (king of the Franks in the 5th century), a symbol of ancient and meritocratic power. The bee then represents immortality, resurrection, order, and industry, values dear to Napoleon and his regime. Adorned here with moonstones, the bee has a softened, milky glow. A stone that is associated with lunar energy and promotes sensitivity, imagination, and intuition.
