Orange Blossom – Neoclassical Heritage
Delicate and luminous, Orange Blossom celebrates the timeless grace of the flowering bitter orange tree.
Set against a deep celadon blue background, star-shaped white petals converse with sun-ripened oranges, forming a still life of classical elegance and quiet singularity.
For centuries, orange blossom has symbolised purity, femininity and promise. In Naples, during the reign of Caroline Murat, the decorative arts engaged in dialogue with lush Mediterranean nature: fine porcelains, floral compositions and perfumed gardens formed a unified aesthetic language.
This illustration follows that tradition.
Flower and fruit coexist as allegory — promise and fulfilment, youth and maturity, delicacy and abundance. The restrained vase recalls neoclassical forms, while the intense blue background lends a distinctly contemporary graphic presence.Printed on fine art paper, the work reveals the ivory precision of each petal and the vibrant sensuality of the fruit. More than botanical art, it is a fragment of history reinterpreted for cultivated interiors.
