The swan and its majestic wings
An elegant swan named Alidor lived near a crystal-clear lake. Every morning, he would spread his large white wings and admire himself in the water, convinced that he was the king of birds.
“Look how beautiful and powerful my wings are!” he said to the frogs and the fish.
One day, a little robin came up to him and asked:
- Alidor, why don't you ever fly? With wings so big, you must be able to touch the clouds!
But the swan, surprised, replied:
- Fly? Why fly? I'm much better off here, contemplating my beauty.
The robin smiled and said to him:
- It is not by staying close to your reflection that you will discover the world.
Caught off guard, Alidor decided to try. He flapped his wings for the first time and rose into the sky. What joy! Mountains, forests, and rivers flowed beneath him, far more beautiful than his watery mirror.
On his return, he thanked the robin:
- Thanks to you, I learned that my wings are not made to be admired, but to explore.
Moral : True beauty is not in what we show, but in what we do with what we have.
